The BLU MED emergency tent facility will be at the Perry County Fairgrounds for the 2019 Perry County Fair. The BLU-MED facility is a portable hospital unit shared between multiple counties within Southeastern Ohio and is available for disaster services.
The tent is easily recognizable by its bright blue coloring and sits on the south side of the fairgrounds between the home makers building and the commercial building and is open to fairgoers from 12-8 p.m.
The Perry County Health Department will be offering blood pressure checks, drawings, Pop-U Mapping for the Perry County Active Transportation Plan and information on Health Department programming including information on rabies, ticks and mosquitoes.
The facility is air conditioned and offers free water to all fair attendees in order to prevent overheating due to hot summer weather. The unit also houses a private breastfeeding area for moms with breastfeeding children.
Perry County EMA/Homeland Security, and MedFlight will also be located within the facility.
