David Wayne’s life has been described as a walking country song. A native of Tennessee, he began listening to country music at the age of five as he played country records for his parents and relatives when they played cards on the weekends.
Wayne has an expressive and emotional voice with a smooth tone with a touch of spiritualism that allows him to immediately connect with his audience when they realize he is “just one of them.”
He entertains his audience like he would like to be entertained and dresses for the occasion like his musical heroes of the past. Wayne’s number one priority is taking the older members of his audience back in time and introducing the younger members to the great legendary country songs.
David Wayne has made several guest appearances on the Shotgun Red Variety Show and the Virginia Dreams Center Stage series on cable’s RFD-TV. His latest album recorded in Nashville is “Thanks a Million” — a tribute to Marty Robbins.
Wayne will be preforming on Thursday, July 19 at 6 p.m. in the Pavilion.
