NEW LEXINGTON — The Perry County Cancer Alliance Support Group is one of the services provided by the Perry County Cancer Alliance. The Support Group is designed for all cancer patients, their families and friends.
One of the most important things a person with cancer can do is share with people who have been given the same diagnosis. Participants in the group will gain support, knowledge of resources, and learn coping skills.
Theressa Snyder-Kane will be the facilitator at the Aug. 12 meeting. She is the executive director and medical manager of Perry Behavioral Health Choices, Inc., and the president of the Perry County Cancer Alliance. Snyder-Kane and Deb Hutmire, vice president, have been instrumental in the success of the PCCA and are excited to make plans for the 20th anniversary on Thursday, Oct. 17, on the Perry County Cancer Courthouse steps.
The celebration will continue at the PBHC Activity Center. Snyder-Kane will be seeking input from the people who attend the support group for this celebration as well as other leading other meaningful activities.
The Support Group will meet Aug. 12 at 7 p.m. at Perry Behavior Health Choices, 203 N. Main Street, New Lexington.
