Mount Aloysius has been proudly serving people with developmental disabilities for over 30 years. Mount Aloysius is an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) operated by a volunteer Board of Directors.
Mount Aloysius is licensed and certified by the Ohio Department of Health to serve 80 people. Currently, 66 people call the main building home and eight people live in the GLOW House (an eight bed ICF/IID).
Mount Aloysius employs 130 people and is one of the largest employers in Perry County. A wide range of professionals work at Mount Aloysius including administrative staff, social service coordinator, maintenance workers, cooks, medical records, direct support professionals, program supervisors, therapists, nurses, lifeguards, and medical staff.
Mount Aloysius is a 24-hour facility where dedicated direct support professionals and nursing staff help with daily living skills and teach and encourage the residents to strive towards independence.
Many people attend Options Unlimited, a day program, located on the grounds of Mount Aloysius and participate in arts and crafts, work in the greenhouse, and exercising in our gym, weight room and pool. The beautiful facility also is home to walking trails, a track, spring and fall craft bazaars, and space you can rent for your event.
At Mount Aloysius the staff is committed to providing a wealth of opportunities in a supportive nurturing environment and full participation in the community which fosters relationships and personal growth. The goal is to ensure that the people we serve take the necessary steps to reach their highest potential.
Mount Aloysius is planning for the future. The Board of Directors recently approved the Mount Aloysius Strategic Plan that will be implemented in the next three to six years.
The Strategic Plan outlines the following goals:
• Mount Aloysius will create the community as a customer, by creating its campus as a resource for the whole community. We will broaden our definition of community to encapsulate Perry County and beyond.
• Mount Aloysius will specialize its services by developing expertise in complex medical needs and aging care.
• Mount Aloysius will diversify our revenue streams by developing a philanthropic and grant management strategy doubling our contributions every year through 2025.
• Mount Aloysius will develop internal and external programs to develop workforce capacity that improves quality and care.
The staff would like to invite the community to visit and explore what they do. Mt. Aloysius has employment opportunities and can be a resource for you. They are excited to be a part of this community and want you to discover all that they have to offer!
