NEW LEXINGTON — The Perry Soil and Water Conservation District will celebrate its 75th Annual Meeting and Election of Supervisors on Thursday, Nov. 7. The event will be held at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall on state Route 383 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. with voting taking place from 5:30 – 7 p.m.
One supervisor will be elected to serve a three-year term. This year’s candidates are Cary Bowers and Malynda Franks. A copy of the District Newsletter, with write-ups about the candidates, absentee voting information, and event information can be e-mailed or mailed to you. A lasagna dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The meal is free, but PSWCD is asking for attendees to kindly RSVP by Nov. 1st for a count for dinner. The meeting will also feature the 12th Annual Dessert Contest. Make your family’s favorite dessert and compete for prizes.
Dr. Jarrod Burks, of Heartland Earthworks Conservancy and Ohio Valley Archaeology, will be the speaker. He will offer an enlightening and entertaining presentation on the Glenford Fort Preserve.
