GLOUSTER — The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Parks and Recreation will host an Old-Fashioned Family Fun Day and help the U.S. Forest Service celebrate Smokey Bear’s 75th Birthday at the Burr Oak State Park Lodge shelter house on Sunday, July 21 from 1- 4 p.m.
This free event is a great opportunity for families to play traditional games, make a nature craft, have their faces painted, listen to live music and make homemade ice cream to go with Smokey’s birthday cake! Plus, children will meet Smokey Bear, learn how to safely start and put out a campfire, listen to the true story of Smokey Bear and write Smokey a birthday card. Refreshments will also be available for purchase.
