Disabled Veterans of Perry County dedicated to help

From left is Dennis Lavender, board member, Judge Luann Cooperrider, Probate and Juvenile Judge of Perry County and Ed Halsey, President of the Perry County Disabled Veterans Outdoors. This is an Ohio based chapter for all Ohio disabled veterans. This local organization recently held a raffle for a Winchester Model 94, 45 caliber shotgun that was handmade by Allen Troyer of Berlin Lumber, Berlin. Judge Cooperrider selected the winning ticket from the container and announced Steve Robinson was the winner. The funds from the raffle are used to take any disabled veteran hunting, on a boat ride, fishing or any outdoor event. All events are free to the disabled veteran and transportation may also be provided if needed. The Perry County Disabled Veterans holds an annual banquet which was scheduled for April 25, 2020 at the Perry County Fairgrounds. This has been rescheduled due to the current corona virus. Interested persons may call Dennis Lavender at 740-403-0768 or the Disabled Veterans Organization at 740-877-7072.
