Looking for a great companion? Visit the Perry County Dog Shelter in New Lexington. Each week The Perry County Tribune features a puppy or dog who may be at the shelter awaiting a new home. If you think you would like to visit the shelter call the office at 740-342-3795 (during office hours) or visit the Perry County Dog Shelter Webste at: www.perrycountydogshelter.petfinder.com. The Dog Shelter e-mail address is firstname.lastname@example.org. Adoptable dogs at the shelter can be found on the Internet. The fee for a dog is $30 plus license fee and shot fee. Also, With the proof of purchase, Dr. Rhonda Masterson, DVM, will provide your “well puppy” its first vaccination, worming and physical exam for $10 off the regular price. The “well puppy” project is a service offered to healthy dogs purchased from the Perry County Dog Shelter. The dogs are on a first come first serve basis. Present photo I.D. at the front desk, answer a few questions, sign a few forms, pay the required fees and your friend is ready to go home with you. All dogs purchased at our shelter appear healthy, however, it is recommended you take the animal to a vet as soon as it leaves the shelter. The shelter provides no guarantee nor is there any refund of any kind. Also, don’t forget to purchase your 2019 dog tags, deadline is Jan. 31. Otherwise, you will be paying double, or be given a citation for not having them on your pet.
