THORN TOWNSHIP — Troopers for the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash that occurred last Friday morning which killed a driver and his passenger. The crash is currently being investigated by the Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The one vehicle, double fatality crash occurred at 12:39 a.m. on state Route 204 in Perry County.
The two who passed at the scene were Richard A. Mosholder, 51, of Thornville, and Christian J. Forgey, 19, of Newark. According to OSHP, Mosholder, the driver, was traveling in a 2007 Pontiac Solstice on state Route 204. Mosholder drove his vehicle off the right side of the road, and struck an embankment as well as a tree. Forgey was the passenger with Mosholder, both of whom passed away at the scene due to injuries.
Troopers responding to the crash were assisted by Thorn Township Fire and EMS departments as well as the Perry County Coroner’s Office.
