CROOKSVILLE —Trunk or Treat is coming to Crooksville Village Park on Oct. 24 thanks to Blood Thirst, LLC. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and last until 8 p.m. There will be a DJ, trunk decorating contests, and costume contests. The treats will be provided by local residents and businesses.
For Rohami De La Rosa, owner of Blood Thirst LLC., this will be her first effort with a trunk or treat project. She says the current conditions facing everyone today spurred her to organize the Crooksville Trunk or Treat.
“With COVID cancellations and restrictions, we decided to offer a safe, family-friendly and fun alternative,” says Rohami. She has distributed fliers in the community extending the offer to register as a vendor. Registration is free, but all vendors must comply with social distancing protocols to make sure proper spacing exists between stops.
Children of all ages are invited to participate in the Trunk or Treat. Twenty trophies will be awarded for costumes for both the kids and the vendors. The contest will be conducted virtually with a business in Circleville selecting the winners. Prize winners will be announced Monday, Oct. 26.
“I know in these challenging times with COVID and the mandates, it can be hard to keep traditions and the holiday spirits alive,” says Rohami. “I am confident we can do this safely and effectively. The main concern of this event will be safety with enjoyment coming in second.”
