According to the latest news release from the New Lexington Police, at approximately 8 p.m. Thursday they received a telephone call in reference to some type of altercation taking place in the 200 block of Lincoln Street that involved a firearm.
When officers arrived, they located a 14-year-old who had been shot. Through field interviews with various witnesses a suspect was identified.
The suspect, a 34-year-old from Columbus, Ohio was arrested without incident and transported to Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
