NEWARK, Ohio – The Board of Directors for the Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Licking & Perry Counties announced Tuesday that Executive Director Jennifer Utrevis has resigned from her role, effective Dec. 31, 2021. Jennifer, a former hospitality executive, was recruited to serve in an interim capacity in 2004 during a difficult time for the non-profit organization, and accepted a permanent position as executive director in 2005.
Well-known and respected in Licking County for her business expertise and community involvement, she quickly gained the confidence and trust of local leadership and BBBS staff and volunteers. During her 17-year career at BBBS, the Agency attained a “quality agency” status. The agency was known as a leader in the small agency category for serving the most children on the smallest budget. Jennifer was also past president of The Ohio State Association of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
In a prepared release, BBBS board leadership expressed deep appreciation for her service to the organization and community. “On behalf of the Board, I express our gratitude to Jennifer for her passion and dedication to the lives of our community youth,” said board President Brad Feightner, Jr. “Through her leadership and organizational talents, the BBBS of Licking & Perry Counties has achieved greater success with our school and community-based mentoring programs.”
In addition to her role at BBBS, she is a member of Newark Rotary, past chair of the Licking County Chamber of Commerce, and previously served on the board of directors for Licking Memorial Hospital. She received the John Alford Community Service Award in 2007 and has been active in the Licking County United Way for many years.
The BBBS Board of Directors will conduct an extensive search of qualified candidates for the executive director role with the objective to complete the selection process prior to the end of 2021. Additional details regarding the executive search are forthcoming.
