NEW LEXINGTON — Recently, New Lexington High School’s 21st Century Project Y.O.U. After-school program participated in the annual Lights On After-school rally.
This is a national movement to celebrate the achievements of after-school students and to draw attention to the need for more after school programs that serve millions of children nationwide who are unsupervised and are at risk each weekday afternoon. This gathering was one of more than 8,000 such events across the nation emphasizing the importance of keeping the lights on and the doors open after school.
At the event at NLHS, students and their families came together and participated in an Escape Room activity where teams had to work together to solve the disappearance of Mr.George. New Lexington High School and Hocking College students were also on hand trying to solve the disappearance.
Families and guests also had the opportunity to decorate pumpkins and visit the many programs being offered at the high school, such as our E-Sports team, boys and girls soccer teams, archery team, Big Brother/Big Sisters organization and labs such as multimedia, shop, video production, and drivers ed.
The program at NLHS also offers tutoring and homework help daily to any student in need. If any student or family is interested in joining our program, please call the high school. All students are welcome to attend.
