THORNVILLE — A message dated Oct. 8, delivered on the Northern Local School District’s website, has announced that someone at Sheridan Middle School has tested positive for COVID-19. The announcement did not state whether the person testing positive was a student or staff member. The public announcement released on Oct. 8 reads as follows:

“Dear School Community,

Northern Local School District is committed to the safety and health of our students and staff. We wanted to inform you that we have recently received information that someone at Sheridan Middle School tested positive for COVID-19. We are working closely with the Perry County Health Department and anyone identified as a close contact will be notified by the Health Department as part of the COVID-19 contact tracing. Cleaning and disinfecting of the exposed location has been completed. Sheridan Middle School will remain OPEN at this time. If NO symptoms develop and you have not been instructed otherwise to quarantine by the Health Department, your child may continue to attend school.”
