NELSONVILLE – The Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Fund (SPCAEF) was established to create resources to promote academic experiences for residents of the Southern Local School District.

This year, SPCAEF awarded scholarships to 14 graduates and graduating seniors of Miller High School in southern Perry County:

• Colby Bartley received the Paul and Charlotte Hope Scholarship, the Robert Woodruff and Charles and Elizabeth Woodruff Scholarship, the Shawnee Alumni Association Scholarship, and the Jesse, Olema & Ralph Drake Scholarship. Colby is attending Ohio University in the fall.

• Alaina Boyden received the Joseph and Marie Lichtenstein Scholarship. Alaina will be attending Zane State College.

• Nicole Bright received the Briggs Family Scholarship. Nicole is attending the University of Northwestern Ohio.

• Seattle Compston received the Briggs Family Scholarship, the Bruce and Delores Hannah Scholarship, the Catherine Blankenship Scholarship, the Charlene Joseph Scholarship, the Jesse, Olema & Ralph Drake Scholarship, and the Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Scholarship. Seattle is attending Bowling Green State University this fall.

• Josie Crabtree received the Commander Lambert Scholarship and the Paul and Charlotte Hope Scholarship. Josie is attending Hocking College.

• Brooke Dillinger received the Briggs Family Scholarship, the Commander Lambert Scholarship, and the Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Scholarship. Brooke is attending the University of Mount Union.

• Hunter Dutiel received the Jesse, Olema & Ralph Drake Scholarship, the Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Scholarship, the Briggs Family Scholarship, the Catherine Blankenship Scholarship, the Donald and Catherine Palmer Scholarship, and the Murray and Lulu Brown Scholarship. Hunter will attend Malone University.

• Taylor Hinkle received the Catherine Blankenship Scholarship and the Corning Alumni Association Scholarship. Taylor is attending the University of Toledo.

• Chase Jewett received the Robert Woodruff and Charles and Elizabeth Woodruff Scholarship. Chase is attending Ohio University.

• Haille Joseph received the Jesse, Olema & Ralph Drake Scholarship, Briggs Family Scholarship, the Catherine Blankenship Scholarship, and the Southern Perry County Academic Endowment Scholarship. Haille is attending Otterbein University.

• Blaine Needham received the Jesse, Olema & Ralph Drake Scholarship, the John and Elsie Exenkemper Scholarship, the Paul and Charlotte Hope Scholarship and the Robert Woodruff and Charles and Elizabeth Woodruff Scholarship. Blaine is attending Ohio University.

• Alaina Weiner received the Briggs Family Scholarship and the Jack and Clara Reho Scholarship. Alaina is attending Muskingum University.

• Chloe Wilson received the Jesse, Olema, & Ralph Drake Scholarship, the Briggs Family Scholarship, the Paul and Charlotte Hope Scholarship, and the William E. & Frances Dunlap Scholarship. Chloe is attending The Ohio State University.

• Mya Wilson received the Jesse, Olema & Ralph Drake Scholarship, the Briggs Family Scholarship, the Paul and Charlotte Hope Scholarship, and the Vincent and Gene Hope Scholarship. Mya is attending The Ohio State University.

SPCAEF was established in 1987 to create resources to promote academic experiences for residents of the Southern Local School District. SPCAEF partners with the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio (FAO) to provide scholarships as well as community mini-grants to promote academic excellence and enrichment opportunities for Southern Local School District residents.
