A 14-year-old Somerset girl charged with possession of marijuana was fined $150 and court costs. The girl was ordered to attend counseling and to complete the Choices Program. The girl was placed on Intensive Probation and in Youth and Family Services.

A 17-year-old New Lexington boy charged with being unruly was fined court costs. The boys drivers license was suspended until all costs and fines are paid in full. The boy was ordered to attend counseling and was placed in ALPHA. The boy was also placed on Intensive Probation and in the Youth and Family Program for family drug treatment.

A 13-year-old Mount Perry boy charged with assault was fined court costs. The boy was ordered to attend counseling and was placed in ALPHA. The boy was also placed on Intensive Probation. The boy was referred for services with Perry County DD.

A 16-year-old Crooksville boy charged with being unruly was fined court costs. The boy was ordered to complete 20 hours of community service and to attend counseling. The boy was placed on Intensive Probation and in the Intensive Outpatient Program.

A 17-year-old New Lexington boy charged with underage consumption was fined $150 and court costs. The boy is unable to obtain a drivers license until the age of 18. The boy was ordered to complete the Choices Program and was placed in ALPHA. The boy was also placed on Intensive Probation and in the Intensive Outpatient Program.

A 14-year-old New Lexington boy charged with theft was fined $50, court costs and $20 restitution. The boy was ordered to write a letter of apology and to complete the Choices Program.

A 17-year-old Corning boy charged with probation violation was fined court costs. The boy was placed in detention and placed in residential treatment.

A 17-year-old Crooksville girl charged with speeding was fined $35 and court costs. The girl’s driver’s license was suspended.

A 17-year-old Somerset girl charged with underage consumption was fined $150 and court costs. The girl’s driver’s license was suspended and she was ordered to complete the Choices Program. The girl was placed on Intensive Probation and ordered to do family drug counseling.

A 13-year-old Junction City girl charged with being unruly was fined court costs. The girl was ordered to do community services and to attend counseling. The girl was placed in ALPHA and on Intensive Probation.

Court News

Judge Cooperrider attended the Perry County Community Foundation meeting where work continues to improve the programs and promote a giving back philosophy to strengthen Perry County. Work continues on the annual banquet which will be in November, 2020.

Judge Cooperrider participated in a nationwide project on the Diversity Committee for the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. The goal is to implement policy that include all factions of the population as it relates to the law.

This week, two children went home as the parents have successfully completed all orders. They are drug free, engaged in counseling and in parenting all successes. Another child, in different family, was placed with grandparents.
