A 17-year-old New Lexington boy charged with possession of marijuana was fined $150 and court costs, his drivers license was suspended until he turns 18. The boy must complete the Choices program and he was placed on intensive probation. He was placed in the Intensive Outpatient Program with the Juvenile Court.

A 17-year-old New Lexington girl charged with violating her probation was ordered to pay court costs, attend counseling and placed in Intensive Probation. Her driver’s license was suspended until she turns 18. She was placed in a residential facility for drugs and alcohol for females.

A 14-year-old Somerset girl charged with possession of drug paraphernalia was fined $150 and court costs. The girl must attend counseling, complete counseling and she was placed in ALPHA and on intensive probation. She was placed in the Youth and Family Services program for family drug treatment.

A 12-year-old Corning girl charged with being unruly was ordered to pay court costs. The court ordered the girl to attend counseling and was ordered to complete 20 hours of community service. She was placed on intensive probation.

A 16-year-old Junction City girl charged with theft was fined $50 and court costs. The girl was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $21, write a letter of apology and she must complete the Theft program. Her driver’s license was suspended until all costs were paid in full.

A 17-year-old Thornville boy charged with probation violation was ordered to pay court costs. He was ordered to attend counseling and complete 20 hours of community service. She was placed in ALPHA and placed on intensive probation.

A 17-year-old Mount Perry boy charged with a speeding offense was ordered to pay and court costs. The boy’s driver’s license was suspended until all costs were paid in full.

A 16-year-old Crooksville boy was charged with underage consumption. He was ordered to pay court costs and fined $150. The boy must complete the Choices program and he was placed on intensive probation.

A 16-year-old Somerset girl charged with possession of drug paraphernalia was fined $150 and court costs. Her driver’s license was suspended one year. The girl was placed in the Youth and Family Services program, must complete the Choices program and she was placed on intensive probation.

A 13-year-old Thornville girl charged with being unruly was ordered to pay court costs. The court ordered the girl to attend counseling, complete the Choices program and placed at ALPHA. She was placed on intensive probation.

Court News

The Juvenile Court through the Court Administration Martina Brown helped the Perry County Historical Society with the annual Cookie Walk. Judge Cooperrider opened her courtroom to a beautiful display of cookies provided to the public by the Perry County Historical Society. It was a very successful event coordinated by Barb Shipley of the Historical Society.

An emergency custody hearing was held regarding an infant child born with drugs in the child’s system. The child was places in foster care upon being released from the hospital.

Five children service cases were heard this week. Four children were placed with relatives. One child was placed in foster care with Children Services. All parents were ordered to drug and alcohol treatment and mental health counseling. Supervised visitation was ordered as well.
