The Crooksville, Sheridan and New Lexington boys’ basketball teams learned their fates in the sectional tournaments after the draw occurred on Feb 8.
Both the Generals and Panthers will host their opening matchups in the Division II Southeast tournament, with both games taking place on Feb. 25 at 7 pm.
The Panthers (13-6) secured the #8 seed and will take on #9 seed Greenfield McClain (11-4). If they win, that could set up a potentially mouth-watering clash with #1 seed Vincent Warren (12-1).
Sheridan (15-3) is the #5 seed and will play a familiar team in #12 seed Fairfield Union. It is worth noting that these two teams played earlier this year, with the Generals coming out victorious 47-42.
The winner of that game will play either the #4 seed Waverly or #13 seed Marietta on March 4.
Heading on over to the Division III Southeast bracket, Crooksville (4-13) earned the #24 seed and will visit #9 seed Minford (8-6) on Feb 22 at 7 pm. If the Ceramics pull off the upset, they will play either No. 8 Seaman North Adams (10-5) or No. 25 Nelsonville-York (3-12) in the sectional final.
