NEW LEXINGTON — After a first-set setback, the Lady Panthers made their way through the night toward a four-set victory over Philo on Oct. 15.
New Lexington lost the first set 18-25 to the Lady Electrics, but the second set was a 25-16 defensive comeback.
Aubri Spicer was the lone Lady Panther at the net for blocks, and in the back row, Bailey Metzger and Nora Duperow were combining almost 45 digs together.
New Lexington kept their defense strong into the third set with a 25-14 victory over Philo.
Duperow and Spicer were New Lexington's heart of the offense with multiple kills each, unstoppable for Philo's back row.
The fourth set was the head-to-head matchup with a two-point difference in the victory for New Lexington.
The 25-23 score came after each team knew their goal, but Philo's offense could not break through Spicer's blocks.
New Lexington's junior varsity took the three-set victory over Philo as well, 25-23, 18-25 and 25-23.
New Lexington ended their regular season with an overall record of 15-7 and an MVL record of 11-5.
The Lady Panthers begin playoffs on Saturday, Oct. 24 hosting Fairland at 1 p.m.
