CROOKSVILLE – The Ceramics baseball team used a strong third inning to pull away for a 5-1 win over Coshocton on March 29.
The visitors got on the board first with a Brody Hammersley RBI single on a 1-2 count. Crooksville would answer right back in the bottom of the first, as Noah Dickerson grounded out but scored the Ceramics first run.
In the third, Austin Love doubled off a 1-1 count and scored two runs, putting the hosts up for good.
On the bump, Caden Sparks was dealing. The senior went all seven innings for Crooksville, giving up one run on four hits, and striking out eight.
For the visitors, Hammersley got the start, giving up four runs on seven hits in four innings. Kobe Rust came on in relief.
Sparks led the Ceramics offense with three hits. Blake White also contributed two hits. The Ceramics didn’t commit any errors in the field.
