The Generals had a great start to the tournament, winning their sectional final game in five innings against Westfall, but the run was not to last. Sheridan lost their next game in the tournament to Unioto, 2-1.

In their sectional final, the Generals had their eighth straight win after they defeated Westfall, 11-1, at home. Dylan Emmert was the winning pitcher of the game with six strikeouts and three hits.

Reece Trowbridge led off for the Generals, getting on base due to an error at third, and then scoring after Nathan Campolo’s single allowed both him and Logan Farmer, who reached base with a single, to score. Campolo also scored in the first after Luke Hanson’s double.

The score was 3-0 until the bottom of the third when Sheridan was able to score another three runs. Hunter Hardy scored off Emmert’s single and a bases loaded single from Brady Turnes brought in Emmert and Hanson.

Westfall finally got on the board in the top of the fourth, scoring their only run of the game after a double.

Sheridan would score their final five runs in the bottom of the fifth, pushing them into a ten run lead and winning the game after five innings. Drew Campbell scored off Jesse Gillenwater’s single to start off the inning. Emmert and Gillenwater were brought in by Trowbridge’s double with bases loaded, and Turnes and Trowbridge scored off Campolo’s double, ending the game. Sheridan won the game, 11-1, and claimed a sectional title.

Sheridan then moved on to the district semi-final where they faced Unioto. Neither team scored until the bottom of the fourth when the Tanks scored two runs. Sheridan’s first and only run of the game came in the top of the seventh when Dylan Emmert was able to score after a passed ball. The final score of the game was 2-1 with Unioto moving to the district final.
